talking about periods make you uncomfortable ?
1 in 4 students feel uncomfortable as they balance exams, homework, tuition, and social life while not being able to afford period products. They may result in skipping class, using toilet paper as an alternative or using period products longer than recommended, all which can lead to mental or physical illness and a decrease in academic performance. Luckily ODU offices such as Health Promotions, Women & Gender Equity Center and Student Health Services provide free period products to students. Unfortunately periods don't have office hours and may come at a time students cant afford.
Donate to help us provide a basic necessity to students after these offices close (5pm). It may feel uncomfortable to talk about now but pushing through that feeling and donating or advocating for those in need can relieve the discomfort they face of period poverty.
